Would you approve of same-sex couples registering their partnerships in your church?

Published: 25 April 2011

The Faith and Policy Unit is asking members in England and Wales if they would like to respond to a new UK Government consultation enabling civil partnerships (same-sex) to be registered on the religious premises of those faith groups who wish to host them.

They are making an organisational response on behalf of the Mothers’ Union which is passionate about upholding marriage and family life. To do so they need the opinions of members in order to represent their views accurately.

This document lists the proposed measures and relevant information with prayers and 9 questions to fill in and send back to Fleur Dorrell by 31st May 2011.

If you would like to read the full consultation document or prefer to make an individual response please go to the Government Equalities Office.

If you feel unable, within this rather short time scale, to respond to the questionnaire please play your part by praying for God's guidance and wisdom for all who respond.
