Although tinged with sadness, the Eucharist held at St Andrew Ramsbottom had, as its focus, thanksgiving for very many years of Mothers' Union in the parish.

The service, and delicious tea which followed was attended not only by the few members remainng at St Andrew's but by members from other branches in Bury; Deanery Leader, Romey Simpson; Archdeaconry President, Peggie Gathergood; and Diocesan President, Barbara Taylor.

Team Rector, Revd Andy Lindop presided and the speaker was Revd Sue Wood, also a member of the branch. Members are to become deanery or 'indoor' members.
